The wildcard line means anything goes. That is the line that they open up for discussing anything. It is not directed to a certain guest or on a certain topic.

I think back in the day it was pretty much limited to east coast, and west coast and the wildcard line was the way that anybody in the world (It was broadcasted on ham radio as well) could actually call in and say something on the air...
