It depends on what you want in horror, but here are a few selections:

Event Horizon - Sci/Fi setting and really, really disturbing. Some of those images have been burned into my mind.

Alien - Sci/Fi setting - more suspense than horror, but yeah, it's still horror. (Aliens is more action-suspense than horror, but the horror is still there.)

The Fly - Gross, gross, and more gross. The arm wrestle - ouch. The doughnut - gag. Yet again, burned imagery.

Shaun of the Dead - Hilarious. The best comical horror that I can think of.

Evil Dead - Bad filmmaking to the point of funny.
Evil Dead 2 - Basically a remake of Evil Dead with more money. Stupidly bad, again, in a funny way.
Army of Darkness - Sort of a sequel to Evil Deads. Stupidly bad, again, in a funny way.

The Exorcist - The classic - troubling is the word, I would use. No chase scenes, but it's really eerie.

The Shining - My personal ultimate. Eerie. Scary. Freaky. Disturbing... (shiver)

I personally didn't care much for the Scary Movie films, there were some clever and funny moments, but I've somewhat grown out of that kind of silly comedy.

Any of the classics. Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Creature From The Black Lagoon. If you're not into black and white- then anything from the 60s-80s. But no remakes or sequels. UNless you want to make fun of them.

I really enjoyed Masque of the Red Death last night.

Obviously, Tony only likes The Shining.
