I tend to agree with you. Our choices don't appear that good to me either. I just hope they come up with someone we can feel comfortable with before election time. I would hate to see Obama or Hillary get the presidency by default.

Haley Barbour, Mississippi's Republican Governor.
As the Chairman of the Republican Party in 1993-94, this was the great thinker that gave the Republicans their majority in the House for the first time in 40 years.
Couple that with a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to shoulder the heavy duty of reconstruction after Hurricane Katrina [and unwilling to play the blame game] for following the emergency response guidelines in place - He'd have my vote as a competent manager.
Mississippi may be a poor state, but we've elected governors from other poor states in the past - with generally mixed results - I think Haley deserves a chance.
You could even give him a 'Rudy' for VP (if he would take it) and you have a ticket that knows how to accomplish things and would be 'balanced' to the more liberal Republican caucus and more palatable.

So you would not vote Democrat even if the Republicans clearly have no good choices for President? That seems a little sad and closed minded. Shouldn't you vote for a President that could fix this country & do what's best for its people instead of just voting for a party? Mitt Romney (R) is running for President but as a resident of Massachusetts I can tell you that he would not be the best choice. He made budget cuts in places where the moeny was needed. He made so many mistakes regarding the welfare of the people of Massachusetts that I would not want to see him making the same mistaked regarding the people pf our nation.

Well Guiliani and McCain are both border-line Liberals at best and so I'd say I have to go with Mitt Romney, Governor of Massachusetts. He seems like a good choice as he managed to win Massachusetts despite the R after his name on the ballot. Also, a man named after the great state of Michigan? Can you get any cooler than that?

i'm not sure what his name is but its the senator of Louisiana, i know he's been thinking about voting and he cares a lot about his state, i agree that there aren't a lot of good solid republican candidates out there, i will definately vote republican because they take good care of our military and don't give all of our money to social programs like the dems do, i wish we could find another Ronald Reagan, he made conservatism cool and that scared the hell of out of the democrats

I'm not a republican as is, but I am conservative, and I like John McCain or Guliani to bring conservatism back to the republican party. If you don't vote for a republican, ANY republican, we can expect to see a repeat of the unchecked government of the last 6 years, only in democratic form. So vote republican!

I like John McCain.
But don't base your vote on a popularity contest here. Research the candidates, and pick the one that best matches your views. You won't get a perfect fit, but find out who's the closest to what you would like.
