$1.49/minute to landlines, $1.68/minute to mobile phones. You should really think about that $4/mo world plan if you plan on calling for more than 3 minutes. You don't have to keep the world plan longer than a month if you don't want to. Just add it on the months that you need to call the UK, and take it off for the months you don't call overseas. The World Connect rate for the UK is $0.06/minute to landlines and $0.25/minute to mobiles so you can see it's easily worth the $4 if you're calling for 3 minutes or more.

It costs 20 cents per text message to the UK or any international number no matter what plan you have on Cingular.

Hi Erica
Geoff has given you some good advice, here is something else you can look into. This is what I do that works better for me when I call me family and friends in the UK using my Cingular phone. I do not pay for Cingulars international plan.
I signed up with pingo www.pingo.com
Put $20.00 into my Pingo account - Then
I dial pingo - and route my call through the pingo service
Calls to a UK landline are 1.8 cents a minute
Calls to a UK Mobile are 15 cents a minute
No hidden fees, works amazing. if I call UK landline phones, my $20.00 lasts a long time
Cheers
