If u use anything except iTunes, then all u have to do is remember where the site saves ur music on ur computer.
Then open iTunes and click "File" then "import"

find the music that u want to import, and import it using this method one by one.

if u use iTunes just open iTunes and click iTunes store, and click and choose the music/vids, etc that u want

just remember to create that iTunes account that will charge ur credit/debit card, paypal account, or store credit from Gift Cards/Allowance

I have had my Ipod now for a year and the music I have that I didn't get from Itunes or cd's came from a program called bearshare.
its awesome it has a lot of stuff to chose from and its free the new version that comes from their website is a little different but it is still good. I have the old version which in my opinion is better here are links to both...http://www.bearshare.com is for the new version see if ya like it if not here is the one I have...http://www.filehippo.com/download_bearshare_lite/
Once you have downloaded this program you can also change its option to automatically add new songs you download straight to Itunes so its really easy!
Have fun and happy listening!

The only way to get songs without a CD or without buying them from iTunes is a program such as Limewire. You can find pretty much any song, the only problem is it puts viruses on your computer and some say it's illegal.

www.limewire.com

Once the songs are downloaded, find out where they're downloaded to, go to File > Add File To Library (in iTunes) and add the songs.

You can download music free of charge from a variety of web sites. Mostly, I use limewire.com

The music you download will be saved in a file, so just remember where that file is, because...

You can IMPORT music to your iTunes library from the file.

To get the iTunes music into your iPod, just plug in your iPod - the iTunes program will do the rest!

Cool, no?

Then, from iTunes, you could drag any music you want to the iPod's icon which will take place on your laptop. to your pal to get those songs, all she has to do is enable disk mode on her laptop and drag the songs to her iTunes.
