Assuming my previous answer was correct (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqF_ko2yHXQ16sRHK5jjGAzsy6IX?qid=20061228074034AA77eWZ ), the perimeter will be:

6(0.88285) = 5.297 miles

But in order to calculate how long it would take you to walk around it, you would have to know how fast you walk.

The answer depends upon two things: the actual shape (and so the circumference) of the farmland and the speed at which you walk. This assumes that you are following the border on your walk.

There are an infinite number of configurations for 864 acres. An irregular fractal border might have a functionally infinite circumference. Think about the farm being laid out like a daisy with 10 petals having a total surface area of 86.4 acres per petal.
Now, consider that flower with 100 or 1000 or 10000 petals: the circumference would increase by orders of magnitude.

1st you have to provide details of the shape so I can determine ti perimeter. You can find this by adding up the lengths of all the sides.
Next you have to tell me how fast you walk.

distance divided by speed equals time. Just make sure you are using the same units for length in both the distance term & the speed term.

I think you would need the speed of your walk.

If you walk 5.297 MPH...it would take you an hour :)
