I know that DVDs are encrypted on the file level, but why can´t I copy the VOB files in Windows? These are (encrypted) files which should be able to be copied to a local disk (encrypted) again. Is this a "feature" of the Windows Explorer? Would it be possible to copy the VOBs using a simple C application?

I am speaking of CSS encrypted VOB files or DVDs ... not encrypted VOB files can be copied easily.

Interesting enough that people are not able to read (and calling me kid - you are so stupid ...). I don´t want to use software like DVDShrink and stuff, I want to know why I can´t copy VOB files from DVDs (encrypted ones) using the Windows explorer! These are plain files ... but encrypted. Seems to have something to do with the authorization process that has to be done with the DVD drive ... but I am still searching....
