I love playing Ibanez guitars, but have never bought one and kept it for more than 30 days. This is because they only provide a one year warranty on their products while Fender and Gibson offer lifetime warranties.

My friend, Im talking collectively here. Gibson makes horrible low-end guitars while Ibanez doesnt. Any Ibanez is a great ibanez no matter the cost. Just my opinion.

I dont like Fender b/c of the style. Its not "one of a kind".

Well, perhaps I can provide you with some reasons... I personally don't like Ibanez but there is a story to tell...
All Ibanez, regardless of price, is made in the same factory in Japan (unless they've recently changed). This means that the same tools used to build their more expensive stuff is also used to make their cheap junk. So, the precision is there, but the quality of materials is not. Unltimately they all play the same..borrrinnngg.
Gibson and Fender (and Schecter and Jackson and Gretsch and Martin and Taylor and Paul Reed Smith and many others) sometimes use overseas factories that are totally disassociated with the "mother ship". These factories build the best guitars they can using the specifications that the home office provides- nothing more, nothing less... something they are VERY good at.
That being said, Ibanez COULD provide a lifetime warranty but don't want to expose themselves to punks who, after playing around and screwing the guitar up, try to use the warranty to get their guitar fixed. Most Gibson and Fender players on the other hand understand that a guitar is a precision piece of equipment and should be worked on only by professionals.
So, once Ibanez can convince their target market not to destroy their guitars and blame it on the factory they might just extend their warranty (this means never).

Honstly why would you return a guitar because of a warranty? I mean, if what your saying is for your particular taste you love even the sound of the low ends, which lets say can run 230 and up(I dont know specifics, this is just for an example), still provides a sound you find better then a cheap gibson/epiphone of the same price, so you would have to pay around 600-700 minimal for a good gibson. If you have it in a case, and keep up on standard maintanance, your guitar outside of freak accidents should play well for years, and even if it doesnt or there is a freak accident, you could still buy another/repair it and have paid less then the guitar from the company with the awesome warranty.
In short, go get yourself a shiny new Ibanez if thats what you like.Warranty shouldnt be as much of an issue as the tone your looking for.

Why keep buying something if you only keep it 30 days ? Are you playing the guitar or the warranty ? Besides, if you play well enough, any no-name instrument will sound great.
