This rust has been here for about 3 years and lime away did not help! I do not believe CLR would work either.

Have you tried CLR? I find it works well. You may also want to try a rust remover - sold at hardware stores rather than drug stores. They are strong so use gloves. (I found CLR was better than Lime Away). Good luck!

Rust is a very difficult substance to remove from anything. Your local janitorial supply stores do carry cleansers for rust stains, they only work if the rust is not embedded in the tile. You could try a light sanding with 600 grit sanding paper. If it is embedded, it just might be better to replace the tile. You can replace the damaged tile with out having to replace all of them.

Zud works really well on sinks stained with rust. Try that or CLR.
