Some ancient places are slowly breaking like The Collusium in Italy. Instead of stopping the need for oil George Bush is needing it. Drilling the Arctic Circle is not what we do. We can get Hybrid cars, use places like YouTube to fight the power, even E-Mail the government. Together we can bring back America and the world. And it's not just the little people making a difference. U2 is helping out Katrina with Music Rising. Green Day is against global warming with NRDC. Alicia Keys is doing a great job in Africa (AIDS), and Bono is helping out AIDS as well with Product Red. You can help these people by buying any items from Product Red to help Africa, buying the single The Saints Are Coming to aid Katrina, send an E-Mail to the president to help NRDC. Together we can make a difference. But people aren't doing it, why aren't people helping?

People try to help. They gave money for Katrina,
and every other disaster that comes along, plus
money to feed the people in Africa and where needed,
money for aides, Cancer and other diseases, money
for the Vets, Fire Depts, the list goes on. Many of us
give, but there will never be enough. The World is in need.

I pity the fool...(just kidding).

We tried that. Remember the UN? It used to be very idealistic, but turned out very corrupt.

Not everyone can afford a hybrid car, and just try to find one. They sell out too fast. Personally, I just bought a PZEV car. Besides, cows pollute more than cars do. And, we have very tight air pollution controls. Take a look at China and the lack of controls there. They are going to kill the Yellow River within 5 years. That's not our fault.

I agree that we don't need the oil. We should be pushing alternative technologies that take the place of current ones within 5 years. It's all well and good that GM makes e85 cars. There are TWO places in all of California you can buy E85 fuel. Until our government gives fuel dealers an incentive to sell this fuel, you won't be able to get it.

I give money every month Feed The Children and Operation Blessing (indirectly).

Here's a thought. People ARE helping. But ask a newspaper or TV news editor which story they would run... people getting blown up or people actually helping someone? It's all in what you read and see, my friend.

Take a look at the number of "charities", causes and actions you just mentioned above, that's just a small sample of the blood suckers out there. How do you expect a normal average citizen to do them all? The majority are struggling to get by day by day and between taxes and health cost the idea of charity for others is nice but sometimes charity starts at home first.

Do you know of another country in this world that tries to help more than the American People? This country has more caring people per 100mi. than all the world! Don't say people aren't doing it, we have so many dragons to slay that are not even this country's. I swear I have never heard of FEED THE AMERICAN CHILDREN anywhere in the world. We are a kind people a little bit arrogant but maybe we have the right to be. I love this country!

Because entitlement is in vogue. We're making the 80's look like the 60's. Selfishness is seen as the only right worth fighting for. It's pervasive in our culture, and isn't likely to change very soon.

I hate being cynical. But it's simply true. Sacrifice is no longer seen as a virtue, it's seen as a weakness.

I think that everyone wants to make the world a better place, it's just that we disagree about how to go about doing it.

Being a good human being means to do good acts when no one is looking, or doing good things when others are not able to do for themselves (i.e. mentally ill, challenged, etc). I guess if their name isn't out there for people to see, they aren't interested.

Everyone seems to want the answer to the question: What's in it for me?
