21st and 15st Panzer Division, 90th and 164th Light Infantry Division, Parachute Instruction Brigade, 580th Reconnaissance Brigade, 2 Regiments of HQ Artillery, 1 engineer Battalion. The troop strength was broken down as follows

2 Panzer Divisions: 12,000 each
2 Light Divisions: 12,000 each
Parachute Brigade: 5,000
TOTAL: 53,000 men
(not counting Luftwaffe and variuos supply support units, coastal batteries, FLAK batteries)

Addition strength added in Nov 1942:
1. Most of 10th Panzer Division
2. Regiment from Hermann Goring Parachute Panzer Division
3. Various armored battalions and the German Arab Legion

As you can imagine, the troop levels went up and down as the tides of war rolled back and forth across the desert.
