I like them both. A good short story is a wonderful thing! When I am pressed for time, or just want to relax, short sotries are what I look for. Novels, a major work for an author may contain more background, plot twists, and take longer to read and enjoy, but, to me, a short story is the hardest thing in the world to write!

As for me, I enjoy novels much more because they keep you up reading through a full package! I think that novels have a better, more well-planned out story, and that would make them great reading materials. I also think that short stories just don't capture the whole "effect" like novels do. Lots more stuff goes on in a novel! If you read a short story that just gives away the plot at the end, you feel cheated. But novels tease you. They lead you through the whole story and deliver you to the ending. You'll feel satisfied.

I look at how well do I react to the story! Normally I am an impatient man that prefers reading short stories but now I am looking at any story that is worth reading (regardless of lenght). Reading for pleasure should be just for you while general reading is something that we all do every single day.

That all depends. If I am reading online I like the short stories. If I am reading for relaxation I read novels.

I enjoy reading. Therefore, I want to read a story that will take me some time to get through, because it IS, in fact, entertainment.

Although, if I was still going to school, a short story would be more to my liking!! :-)
