Is kinda Hardware specific. CPU and Operateing system play a major role also.If you are doing on a Vista, forget it, need more. If on XP, it will get a virus and crash no matter what you do.
AMD/Radeon are on good terms I think, so might make for a good one, next 6 months it all changes again, so get what you want, and have fun.

AMD Radeon, because ATI's CPU overhead is bigger than nvidia's, so their max fps (depends on CPU) is higher than the equivlent card of nvidia's. So basically, if a card from ATI & a card from NVIDIA, were tested in the same machine, with the same processor, and the video cards were like 100% identical, the ATI would have slightly higher frame rates than the nvidia (like 139 instead of 120 of nvidia), again this all depends on the CPU, memory etc...

Intel is in cahootz with NVidia and AMD is with ATI now. I would stick with those pairs if you are buying new.

uhhh
nvidia and raedon are both up there with each other
it's not which company
but which card.....
you must look specifically into each card
and judge by price and feature it offers
