Country music has the most depressing songs. There is one called "One More Day" by Diamond Rio that is incredibly sad.

Melissa lied...Iwas coming home from wal-mart when I heard it for the first time and cried me eyes out..It's a country song about a little girl who makes a new friend at school and the friend has bruises because her parents beat her. Melissa lies about the bruises and when the other little girl's dad taks her to school Melissa isn't their cause they killed her. It's so sad.

I was going to say "Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton, but since someone already said it, I'll have to go with either "The Freshmen" by The Verve Pipe or "Hello" by Evanescense (sp?)
