I am on the patch Otho Evra, I have to change it for 3 weeks on the 4th week I get off of it and then I have my period, I love this because I always know when my period is coming. I got on the patch a month after I had my baby (1st baby) I am 22 yrs old and I was scared to get pregnant again so I got on the patch for the same reason of gaining weight, I saw alot of my friends that got on the pill and later developed to look like cows and I said "I am not having that!" I really like the patch not only I am in control of my period but I also have weight the same that I did after I finish being pregnant. I recomend you go to the doctor and find out if the patch is good for you, another thing that they ask you to change is to make an effort to excersise to keep the blood flow normal, to prevent blood cloths.

Condoms. I refuse to go on the birth control pill ever again. It's not natural. it throws your body into a state that it should not be in, and it makes you feel different. Just use condoms. I've known several people with health problems that doctors think are related to the pill. one even had a brain aneryism. I'm not trying to scare you, just do your research.

I'm on Mirena. It's a new IUD that your doctor can insert for you into your cervix. It stays in for 5 years. I've had it since June and haven't gained any weight. It also makes your period's strength decrease, as far as cramps and the length of it.
I love it, cause I'm horrible with remembering pills.
I think the NuvaRing also does'nt make you gain weight.

There is also a birth control pill called "Yasmin" which is 'weight neutral', supposed to not make you gain weight, in most cases.

Talk to your doctor about the IUD. Its a temporary sterilization procedure. I think it only lasts 3-5 years and you can have it removed at any time.
