When we got home, we checked on her, and mom said that Lily (my hammy) was cold, so i've had a blanket around her, trying to keep her warm, should i be doing that??

sorry about your hammie. Unfortunately there isn't much time for these little ones. The only thing I can think of is maybe she had an impacted pouch. That would explain the bleeding in the mouth as well as the pressure on the eyes keeping them from opening.

If you are still interested in what it was check out this website and see if it helps. Maybe it will give you closure.

I'm not sure if by gone you meant dead, but take a cotton swab and soak it in a little warm water. Stroke her eyes with the swab and gently press and pull, thus opening the eye. Hamsters CAN catch colds from humans, or drafty/cold areas. The symptoms of a cold would be a chilly hamster, sneezing with a runny nose...almost the same as humans. Give your hamster some warm milk and a bit of honey.
I actually have recently been reading more on hamster health and have obtained this info from my research!

I am sorry to say but if she is over 2 years old, her time may be up. Please take her to a vet. I had a hamster that died at 3years old with the same symtoms and the shot that the vet gave him did not help. It is very sad. I hope the vet can help yours. Good luck.

Take the hamster to the vet immediately! If you don't she could die! (Not to sound mean or anything, but you get what I am saying!) The vet will know what to do!

my hamster just recently died. First she got sick. She stopped going on her wheel at night, got really fat, and one of her eyes wouldn't open. I would just watch her and see how she does. If it gets worse wake up your parents and bring her to a vet. Good luck with your hamster.

Just wake your mom and take your hamster to the vet. If your mom cares about the hamster she'll take you.

You have to go to the vet, now! You don't want to suffer a hamster fatality. It's sounds serious. It's better to be safe then sorry. Good luck to your hamster!!!!!!

GO TO THE VET!
if your hammy has unwanted mucus in her nostrils, that might be the problem. if that is, use a tiny eye dropper or medicine droppers for infants , stick it in its nostrils carefully and squeeze the top.

Im sorry to tell you this... but she's dieing. Thats how pets that breathe out of their noses die... they begin to breathe out of their mouth. Thats what happened to my rabbit. You can bring her to the vet but she is going to put her to sleep... or u can let her die in ur house
