A llama is to big to get you on a bus or to go into a grocery store.
A dog is the best animal because of their size they should come up to your knees so the the guide handle fits comfortably. Their intelligence and herding capabilities make them a good companion and protective too.
My sons dog knows his way around town and can pick out things at the grocery store just by being told what to get.

NO! And I'm answering this one even though I know you're beeing a butthead.

Only dogs, because they follow commands, can hold their bladder and other functions, have the best eyes, and are the best behaved. They are the best size, because you have to take them through public establishments, airports, airplanes, etc.

They go into hotel rooms, and such. Restaurants wouldn't necessarily approve of a huge llama inside by the salad bar. Llamas can't be potty trained, either, I wouldn't imagine...

Although sometimes guide dogs can be little toots, too if their owners aren't conscientious with their training. They will poop in inappropriate places, and eat off plates and do naughty things, if they aren't kept in "work mode" and the boundaries are kept strictly.

Good grief. I can't believe I fell for it...

i think so. but its fairly unlikely anyone would take the time to train animals for that other than dogs.

i've had really smart cats over the years. also a really smart adult male sheep -- not sure what that would be called -- anywho he was a pet and would have made a good guide sheep with proper training. people say pigs are smart as well -- guide pig?

properly - the scent could desire to grant it away! endure in innovations that individuals who've lost considered one of their senses could adventure a heightening of one of their different senses. instruction manual dogs are very properly knowledgeable. they are not going to easily run off randomly to do a poo. they could have a ordinary with their proprietor, and the owner will enable them to appreciate while it's time to go. A dogs's physique place, and how its lower back arches, differs in the event that they are doing a pee or poo. the owner can differentiate by utilising stroking the dogs whilst they are peeing or pooing to tell the adaptation. i could admit nonetheless - i do no longer understand how precisely a blind guy or woman might have the skill to precisely tell the place the poo is while they could desire to %. it up! i assume they placed the dogs poop bag over their hand and experience around til they get a heat poo! As for no be counted if or no longer they are able to be prosecuted - they possibly have a greater effective argument than others in the event that they did no longer %. it up, yet determining on up after your dogs is an portion of dogs possession, and in the event that they could no longer %. it up, they might not be allowed a instruction manual dogs. i'm somewhat beneficial they are expected to persist with the dogs bylaws like anybody else, nonetheless.

I saw an article on a guide horse- a very small horse of course. The benefit is that horses live longer than dogs.

As long as they were trained, I think any animals can be guides for the blind.

It all depends on the size of the animal so it can travel anywhere with the blind person, and the daily care they need. A blind person needs a helper, not another burden....
