The days are already started to get longer as of the 21st December (longest night/shortest day/winter solstice) I hope that this will lift you out of your depression.

You will begin to notice this around 15 January every year.

The days have already started to get longer! 21st December is the shortest day, so now the nights get shorter and the days get longer. Don't worry, it will soon be spring!

You will be glad to know its already on the way to being lighter at nights!! The shortest day was 21 December - so from that point it slowly gets lighter at night. Its also worth knowing that 21 June is the longest day - so from that point it starts to get darker again at night. But at least we are on the way to lighter nights already!!

The days have already begun to get longer. The winter solstice (Dec. 21-22) is the shortest day (in terms of amount of daylight) of the year. Keep your chin up!

Dec 21.

Move south and the problem will be diminished since the closer you are to the equator, the less change there is in the length of daylight.

It's starting now. The vernal equinox or whatever it's called (shortest day of the year) was about 2 weeks ago. They start lengthening a few minutes each day from then on.
