Your question is a little too open for what I think you are trying to accomplish with it. There are unlimited cases of where alienation has been influential to an outcome. Childhood alienation leads to (fill in the blank). Prisoners alienated from population leads to (fill in the blank).
I believe what you are looking for is a case where alienation influenced a positive outcome which is a little more difficult but here is one:
In somes cases of epidemic and disease, quarantine (aka alienation) can be influential to an outcome. Particularly cases of cholera, diphtheria, tuberculosis, plague, yellow fever and viral hemorrhagic fevers caused by Marburg, Ebola and Congo-Crimean viruses.
Here's an example: http://www.itg.be/ebola/ebola-31.htm
.
Another case might be:

Babe Ruth. He was born into a family of eight children. Only two survived past infancy. His parents owned a tavern and didn't really care to take care of him. When he was seven his father signed him over to an orphanage (alienation). The alienation allowed him to meet Brother Matthias, the Prefect of Discipline at St. Mary's school. Brother Mathias helped to foster Babe's love of baseball.

I saw a story once on Japanese daycare for kids. Instead of taking the class bully aside and disciplining him, they let him do his thing and the other kids ostracized him. He'd eventually learn that acting like an *** was not going to win friends and infuence people.
