If you agree to do a favor for someone (for example, mail their dvds back to Netflix) and then you forget to do it, and they get angry at you about it right away (before you even realize you forgot) - should you still apologize for forgetting?

Sure you should apologize. It was your mistake even if they discovered it before you did. They relied on you to something and you didn't follow through. If there are any repercussions it is they who will be penalized, not you.

Apologize but don't let them make this a huge issue. After all, it's just some DVDs. It's not a life or death situation.

We all make mistakes...we all occasionally forget things. You're human. Say you're sorry, make amends (send off the DVDs and if there is a penalty by Netflix then pay it) and move on.

Yes. I would and offer to pay the fees if any charged. I don't think Netflix charges. Anyway your friend depended on you and you let him or her down. Is a trust issue. It was an honest mistake. And he or she should forgive you. At this time of year especially. Is so busy. Happy New Year.

It takes a good person to admit that they were wrong. Admiting you were wrong showes honesty and integrety. Something lacking in this new world. If you did it to me I would be angry too, but once you owned up to your mistake and appoligized I would get over my anger and gain much more respect for you. So yes admit the mistake, and try not to do it again,or at least if something comes up in that nature again , tell her since you messed up you don't want that responcibility .

You should always apologize if you did something wrong. It shows your moral character and says that you really feel bad for making a mistake. If you dont apologize, it says you dont care about what you did wrong (or in this case, forgot to do).

Apologizing is the right thing to do. I know you may feel a bit bent out of shape for that person getting angry with you but you have to remember that you were the one that gave your word to perform a task..... :-)

Making mistakes is part of being human. But taking responsibility for them is the right thing to do, this includes apologizing.

Yes, because I lost this lady's ONLY picture of her friend. The picture was taken in the 1970's and her friend is dead. Now, sometimes, there is no need for an apology, like if an adult hurt your child and you hurt the adult. Sometimes apologies are needed, other times, they aren't.

If someone is wrong they should apologize. There are times when people don't mean to do something wrong, it can be as simple as they forgot, but they should still apologize.

Once you promise to do others favor, and you forgot, yes, apologize is the way to go cuz of that promise you make. You will be mad also if others didn't do what they promise.
