It's True!!!!!!!!!!!! Throughout the book, Harry suspects that Snape and malfoy are plotting something to do with Voldemort. He overhears Malfoy and Snape talking in a classroom about the Unbreakable Vow, which Snape says he took to help Malfoy. He tells Dumbeldore,Lupin, and Mr.Weasey but they trust Snape. At the end of the book Dumbeldore and Harry go looking for a Horocrux(part of Voldemort's soul), when they return to Hogwarts, The Death Eaters are running around trying to kill the students. In Dumbeldore's final scene, Malfoy finds Dumbeldore and takes his wand. Dumbeldore pleads with malfoy saying that if he turns away from Voldemort that Dumbeldore will help him and protect him. Snape comes up and says Avada Kevada and kills Dumbeldore.

Yes, this is true.
Look at the culture from which JK Rowling comes. First off, as a Brit, they do not like the happy endings of American Hollywoodesque culture and prefer the anticlimactic.
Second, it's not precisely clear that Dumbledore is all dead. He is "killed" by Snape when Draco Malfoy refuses to act, and Snape is set up to be a conflicted protagonist, so it may all be a ruse in the end. We'll just have to wait and see.

Unfortunately, yes. It is terribly sad that he is gone in the physical form, although his portrait now hangs in the office that is left for Minerva McGonagall to oversee. However, I do believe that his death only protects the students of Hogwarts, in the same manner that Lily Potter's death keeps her son a bit more safe from his enemies. (Remember how Quirrel couldn't even touch Harry in the Sorcerer's Stone?) Dumbledore's death is tragic, but I believe it will play into the next book as a necessity.

Yes he dies! Him and Harry are on a tower and Malfoy is supposed to kill him but can't make himself do it so Snape does the Avada Kadavra on Dumbledore.

Malfoy was given a task to kill dumbledore but Snape who was really bad after all did it seeing the Malfoy was too scared too. Snape cast one of the 3 unforgivable curses. advada-kedavra. It happens so quickly it's just so sad.

yes he dies b/c jk rolwing herself said he is dead!! (in an interview)
however, i did hear some really interesting theories on how dumbledore is not dead including one that was about the way he died. apparently, the avada kedevra curse does not throw people backward and upwards, but makes them crumble to the ground. the expelliarmus (i know i spelt that wrong) spell does throw ppl back and up, so people think that while saying a nonverbal curse, he says the avada kedevra one.

He's dead. He's not coming back. I think part of the reason is to make it even that much harder for Harry to trust Snape in the 7th book.
It's a shame somone told you that he died w/out you reading it. I cried when I got to that part of the book. I'm glad no one ruined the surprise for me!

Yep, dead as a doornail. Snape did it, the tosser. And we *know* Dumbledore is truly dead because his portrait has appeared on the wall in his old office, so sadly ladies and gents, its not an elaborate trick.

Yep, Severus killed Albus because Draco was unable to, and therefore he fullfilled his vow. I could write on forever about this subject, but that's just the basics. You haven't read Half-Blood Prince yet?
