what should you do if you found out your man for 5 yrs and living together for 5 months, told u last night that is was born in a different year then i thought. my man told me his was born in 1970 but i saw his birth certificate shows 1976.he told me that he had to change his age, so he can get a visa to come into the united states. it bothers me because he lied, but in all reality he is only 2 years younger than me.
answer other open question. thanks.

I wouldn't think anything of it really, especially if he had to do it to get a visa! I mean yeah he was born in '76... but legally in this country he was born in '70 and he technically didn't lie the way I see it. Its just age, if it was something else then you could freak out. Just keep an open ear and brush it off.

I wouldn't like it - lying is never a good thing. Before I got married, I dated several guys who were significantly older then me and one of them lied and said he was younger because he wanted to make sure I would date him. When I found out, it really angered me because I thought if he could lie about his age, he could lie about anything. The relationship lasted maybe 3 months. I just couldn't trust him after that.

A lie, is a lie, is a lie. Regardless of why he lied to others - he should have told you the truth. I know age is just a number, but he lied. Period. I've learnt the hard way that people who have "truth" issues will lie to anybody, regardless of love or marriage. BEWARE.

My mother changed her age on her license for personal reasons and my dad never thought she was untrustworthy. Seems like a silly thing to hold against him. It's not like he has a secret wife or something.

I would be very angry and hurt that he lied to me. I would also have concerns that he lies about other things too. My advice?
Lose him. How can you ever trust this guy again?
