If your essay was better-written than this question, it would be obvious to your teacher that you didn't write it.

Well I know at my school they have a system that they put all of the essays into and cross check them to make sure they original writings. Plus a professor can tell by previous papers and your attendance/participation in class to get an idea of your writing style. So if you turn in something that is totally different than what you typically write or us words that you don't typically use then they will check to make sure you didn't cheat. In the long wrong its alot easier to write your own paper than have someone else write it, I mean you will never learn if you have someone else write your paper.

You tell them by your behavior.
You need to re think your choice to cheat on any paper or test as these are tools necessary to measure your learning ability. It is more important today than yesterday to develop yourself in every way in order to survive. With many more people to take your place and your job and what you have you need to be smart and capable enough to arise above these influences and continue on the path of growth and self fulfillment.
You will always receive what you put into it and if you cheat it then you will be cheated.
Do not mindlessly believe you are getting away with it because you are not in NO WAY!
What is serious, is you are totally cheating yourself and you will learn this later in life, after much pain.
Good Luck

I'd have to say that teachers pick up easily on a students ability and level of knowledge... they would be able to tell if you written the words by how the essay is written. :)

teachers know..

As a teacher ususally by this time of the year I know the ability of my students so seeing work from a student that cannot be something they could do - it becomes pretty obvious to me that it is a fake. I remember one student I simply asked them to explain what they had written and they couldn't - another one didn't bother to remove the world encarta off the articles he was printing off as encarta and tried to submit as his original work.
Simply put teachers aren't a dumb as you would like to think we are. Just fess up to what you did and pay the consequences - you'll be better off than fighting this.

Good Luck!!!

If your teacher knows you well enough and based on your past performance in her/his class it would not be difficult to find out if essay was not your own effort, unless you have taken care to keep it at your standard.

Most teachers can pick up on your style of writing and know if a paper was plagiarized. Besides, they can go to certain websites and gain access to the papers you bought online.
