in any case dont reply, and also avoid opening such emails. I figure if you spam it once or twice, the spam shield will block all future attempts of the specific sender.

Do not give out any personal identification of yours involving numbers over the Internet especially if you have a laptop, wireless.

Don not give out your social security number, you PIN number, even your house number.

If you feel so inclined to open it and go through with any claim form, work the information in accordance with your states attorney generals office. Take a print out and call the attorney generals office, immediately. They will direct you accordingly.

Yahoo is not a police agency, nor have any direct violations been exercised by scam artists, to directly violate any form of censorship unless otherwise prover. They may be for real, even though it is very doubtful!

Wait'll you get the scam about the person who is stuck in Africa and needs money to pay her hotel bill and fly back to the United States. And, if you send to her/him some money, she/he will make it up to you when you meet.

YEAH, RIGHT...

Like any other email provider, Yahoo has security measures to prevent spam. The are not perfect. Sometimes they block out messages that are not spam and sometime spam gets through. Spammers change tactics and Yahoo has to adjust.

Just mark the message as spam and do not reply to it. The more message that are marked as spam, the better Yahoo will become at detecting in and weeding it out.

Check the box next to the e-mail and click the SPAM box at the top of the In Box.

If you do open it, chuck click the word SPAM at the top of the message.

Whatever you do, DO NOT reply to them. That simply confirms that your e-mail account is valid and active.

it isn't up to yahoo to stop those messages
it's up to you to stop signing up for sites
and if you do sign up - create a different email address for sites that require you to sign up / log in
and don't use your main email account to sign up for sites
another thing you can do is click the spam button and/or add that email address to your block / ignore list in the options section of your email account
