For example, Dakota's new movie involves her being raped and walking around in her underwear. While she was being filmed, her agent, mother, welfare worker was all there.

Why make a sick movie and put the child through that sick and perverted stuff? That's just wrong!!

What do you think?

I've heard about this movie and I think it's sick too. Any movie that is about rape is sick and disturbing and I personally don't think they should be made. It's a sensitive topic for many. Dakota's so cute and innocent but she's getting older, and all actors and actresses in Hollywood have no morals what so ever.

I've never heard of that movie, but if Dakota Fanning's mom and welfare worker were there, then it was probably okay, because they were making sure that nothing was actually happening to her. And if her mom and agent thought it was okay for her to be a part of this movie, then they probably thought she could handle it. It really is just acting. I doubt anyone on the set actually hurt the little girl. Anyway, I'm guessing that this movie is based on a true story of some sort. Whether that is or isn't the case, I'm sure the director of this movie is looking to get the same reaction from other people that you just gave. You were disgusted that anyone could do this to a child, which means the actors involved must have done a damn good job! May even be Oscar material!

I agree with you. Her agent, mother, and welfare worker being present doesn't stop the human mind from being affected by what is going on. How absurd would it be to have a parent make their 10 year old go up to the top of their home to adjust the TV antenna while they hold their arms out in case the child falls? All they are to me is a gang of 3 enablers. She will be deeply disturbed by this and the result will be in how she goes through her 20's. I certainly hope she gets through this okay, she is a darling little girl, but my gut feeling is we have a Lindsay Lohan in the making.

I have to agree with you that making a sick movie like that is definitely wrong. Dakota should be in nice movies like "Dreamer". That was an awesome, beautiful and perfect movie for her to star in. They should not put a child actor through that sick and perverted stuff.

What's the matter? The mother, Welfare Worker and the agent did not find it offensive. Dakota did not either.

But at what cost?

What does that do to Dakota's psyche. I guess as long as it is for art, then messing up her psyche is OK.

It would be one thing if most child stars grow up normally without doing this kind of stuff on screen when they were young. Todd Bridges, Danny Bonaduce, Dan Plato turned out just fine without being in rape scenes, didn't they?

Dana Plato committed suicide, go and watch breaking Bonaduce to see how he turned out, and Todd Bridges has a criminal record.

Hollywood cares so much about the children, let's put them through psychological trauma for arts sake.

I bet they could find another way to do it without being graphic.

Hollywood has resorted to graphic displays of grotesqueness. How come they can't allude to it, or show a before and after, instead of the entire scene? They did that kind of thing in the old days and those movies turned out great.

In Psycho, you never see the women getting stabbed in the shower. You see a shadow of a knife, you see her scream, you hear the music and you see what looks like blood running into the shower drain. You don't actually see the murder or act itself, but yet it is scary, suspenseful, and it gets the point across.

So why can't Hollywood do it like that without resorting to being so graphic?

She's an actress- even though she's young, she's still an actress and I doubt her parents and agent would have agreed to it if the scene weren't an integral part of the movie. It's supposed to be a really good film, from what I've read

Yeah the movie is called Hounddog. It will premiere in competition at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. They say it was shot above the shoulders, using her facial expressions to tell the story and that she's wearing a body suit.

Anybody who acts like a prostitute or as abused gets an oscar nomination. Thats hollywood trend. Children in the movies are getting killed and even killing other people (in some demonic form) If you want to change it, then neither watch the movie nor rent it. That way it will get into their head that this formula doesn't work anymore.

What movie was that??

That is pretty sick. I remember another movie like that it was called "Bastard out of Carolina" and I was totally sick after watching the movie. I think I cried for like 2 days cause I have daughters and that subject matter is really disturbing.
