What age ranges would you give these two books:
'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time'- by Mark Haddon

the Curious incident.... is a very very good book! I would say 8th grade and up
Pride and Prejudice- it depends on the person... some kids in high school just can't grasp the complexity of the novel because it was written so long ago.
I enjoyed it more when I read it again as an Adult.

The Curious Incident could be middle school and Pride and Prejudice high school (mostly because of the older language use).

Pride and Prejudice would be 13-15, and I haven't heard of the former.

I've not read the first, but Pride and Prej is about 14 upwards. And the author is Jane Austen

pride and prejudice has so much historical background that you should be in high school to read AND understand why and what is going on in the cultural of that time.

the other book I have never heard of and is not listed on any reading lists.

If you can read it, and understand it ...it doesn't matter what age. My father read "The Three Musketeers" in the third grade.

I gave the first to my 12-year-old daughter, she liked it.
Pride and Prejudice from 15 upward, I guess.

You are welcome!
