This was Jennifer's first movie and she received much praise and acclaim from the critics, and I personally believe that she did an outstanding job. What do you all think? **And if you can, could you please not criticize Beyonce...I'm starting to feel sorry for the poor girl now**

Absolutely outstanding and Oscar worthy!!! It is hard to believe that she had not acted before. She was the absolute best choice for Effie. Definitely my favorite character in the film, although I personally identified more with Deena. *****

I agree with the person above...Jennifer Hudson was told she had to gain 20lbs for her role in the movie and Beyonce had to loose weight for her role...Also I think Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce are both very good singers...But on the movie Dreamgirls Jennifer Hudson role was to be a better singer than Beyonce and the rest of the girls...So I say Jennifer really didn't make Beyonce look bad on the movie...Singing really good was part of Jennifer Hudson's role in the movie...Off stage Beyonce and Jennifer both have great voices.
