I have two kids and a mother-n-law @ home...(she live with us)
So I need something that is not going to take me away for the house because that cost money. But crazy enough that we both will remember for the rest of our life. HELP!
I know if I could get rid of the mother-n-law that would be nice… but its ant going to happen.

Try writing a poem, or making a montage or slide show of your lives together, ask a freind if they have a place (vacation cabin, winnebago, camper, house) where you can go for free to get away from family for an evening. Spend the night under the stars with cheap wine. go camping in your back yard.

- if Mother-in-law can babysit you could go to your old neighbourhoods and reminse about the pass

- Get free movies from the library and watch with the family. I would chose Date movies we had seen together

- Watch all the family videos and pull out the picture albums.especially the wedding album.

- If you can slip out for breakfast before the kids and MIL wake up then you can have an affordable meal alone. They are usually around $5

- Check your local newspaper for free activities in Town. e.g. movies, Skating, Musical events, etc...

- See if Kids or MIL has plans for you. Me and my sibling took my parents out for dinner and bought a cake. Then took a Family Portait.

Have a Happy 25 Anniversary!!!!!!!

Why don't you fix a real nice supper, put on some romantic music, light some candles, and let the evening go where it may.You could have your dinner after the kids are in bed,and ask mother to politely to make herself scarce for the rest of the evening. We have never been people of means or wealth, but some of our best memories were made at home!!Good luck.I have also made my husband a homemade card with a poem with the highlights of our lives in it,he loves these.Maybe you could try that, too.Again good luck.

If you really can't get rid of your mother in law and the kids, why not let them join your anniversary party. You can turn it into another thanksgiving party, God knows being married for 25 years is something to be grateful for. For starters, you can serve a simple arugula salad with sundried tomatoes, parmesan and olive oil. Then a simple roast chicken (very cheap) marinated with butter, olive oil, lots of garlic, soy sauce thyme and lots of pepper. For dessert serve tiramisu. Buy a couple of bottles of wine and you're good to go. Good luck and Congrats!

try finding one of those promotional weekends that you have to listen to some talk about buying a home. they are usually very inexpensive Free- $99.00 at the most. I'm sure some of your friends can recommend something if not do some research. you can always plan something a month or so from your anniversary if you start now. That might make things alittle easier financially.

Maybe you can get your kids in on thee act by telling them that you want to plan something nice for your husband because 25th anniversary is a big deal! If they aren't selfish they will know that it is and they will help out on making this happen for you. Ask them for ideas and suggestions and see what they come up with. I would think that your kids would be planning something nice, I know I would if it were my parents. hope this helps god knows you deserve it after 25 years!

Put some sleeping pills in the in-laws drink. That alone would be crazy and fun. Then make a romantic dinner together and retire to the bedroom and give each other sensual massages, and see where that goes.

if you've been doing this for 25 years, you should have learned to not blow all your money on xmas and save some for eachother! I have no idea what to do at home with kids and mother in law there.... rent a disney movie and have popcorn...?
