I have a gpa of about 1.9 which makes me really mad because i did really good in one of the classes and got a D. I Got a B and C in my other two classes (only taking 3 classes). Well since my GPA is 1.9 now is there any way I can raise my gpa up to like a 2.7-3.0? I really need a high gpa to transfer out. If there is any way I can raise it up please tell me so i can help myslef get a higher gpa. IF i get a gpa of 3.5 next semsester will it help raise it to 2.7-30? or if I take more classes will it help raise my gpa? PLease help me . THANK YOU. RESPOND ASAP

I am having the same problem, my first two semesters I screwed around but when I finally bared down and started studying I have been getting A's in my classes. But still my GPA will not go above a 2.9.
What you need to do is take more than 3 classes, study your butt off and work for a better GPA. When you start filling out application you need to let them know what happened and why your GPA is low. Figure your GPA after that class or in major GPA and emphasize that in your applications.
Best of luck to ya.

The GPA you need will depend on the number of credit hours you take. If you take three, 3 credit hour classes and get Bs in all of them, your GPA would be approximately 2.4-2.5. You will need A's or a couple 4 credit hour classes to get it close to 2.7-3.0. One of the things I learned in college was to not be afraid to drop a class. I went full time and worked full time and found myself overextended once or twice. In terms of GPA, it's better to drop a class you are worried about than get a low grade and struggle and stress the entire semester for a disappointing result. Might be hard to drop though if you need to meet a credit hour requirement to stay full time (i.e. for financial aid).

It is common problem, Do yourself with absolute devotion a few things:
1. Study daily in a fixed time frame and let nothing distract you during that time
2. Always remember you are much more respectable person than apperently you look like.
3. Allow yourself some time to enjoy with whatever you only think you can enjoy
4. If possible take a long walk alone or do at least 15 minutes exercise daily morning and evening
5. Abstain from all materials of dependence like smoking, drinking, drugs, or any other
6. As I already told you you are a respectable person, Enjoy within you a lot, and let others do their things... those are not your thjings. You be in your shoes and let others be in theirs.

knowing that 1.9 is a poor gpa is a bold step u've taken already.secondly,if u score a 3.5 nxt semester,it'll definitely land u in a 2.7. To me,dat is shaky. i believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well. so if u wanna pass out of college,u better go for a 5.0(which is very possible) and stop being mad!!!

If you take the same amount of credit hours next semester the highest your gpa will be at the end of your second semester will be 2.95 (given you get a 4.0 next semester). If you take more credits next semester and get a 4.0 you could get slightly above a 3.0. if you take the same credits hours next semester and get a 3.5 you will get a 2.7 overall gpa.

Just study. You have only finished a semester. Lot of time to make up. Don't give up. Concentrate on the courses with more credit hours. All the best.
