If you want to major in broadcast journalism, I'd suggest you attend a college that has a program that is accredited by
The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. You can find a list of these schools here: http://www.ku.edu/~acejmc/STUDENT/PROGLIST.SHTML

Then, compare that list to this list of schools with broadcast journalism majors: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/majors/brief/major_9-0402_brief.php

Finally, if you're interested in dance, go through the list and find which ones offer dance programs or dance instruction in the type of dance you are most interested in. Many of the best dance programs, however, will require an audition. Some will have specific programs in dance education that will qualify you to be a dance instructor.

You will then have a choice: either major in broadcast journalism or major in dance, do a double major in both, or do a major in one and a minor in the other.

I want to add, however, that choosing a career because your boyfriend is going to be a meterologist probably isn't a good idea. The broadcast field is extremely difficult to break into, so even if both of you do end up in the field, it is highly unlikely that you will start off at the same station, or even still be together after college. Your boyfriend may end up doing something completely different as a meterologist (very few meterologist are actually television weather men these days. ) So, my advice would be to follow your OWN interests and desires, not pursue something because your boyfriend is going in that direction. That's where true career success most likely will lie.

I'm 52, and I have seen how college degrees have become a laughing stock. When I was 18 I walked into a radio station and asked for a job. I was on the air the next day. Now, you have to have a college degree to do the exact same thing.

You definetly need a degree to get a teaching certificate, so I would go with the dance degree. And pretty much any type of degree (especially one related to entertainment, like dancing) will get your foot in the door in the broadcasting industry.
