My boyfriend and I had protected sex (we used a condom and he pulled out before ejaculation) last month around the 12th or 13th of November. I believe I got my period on the 17th. My cycle is very irregular anyway, but I hardly ever skip months. However, I still have yet to get my period this month. I took a home pregnancy test on Tuesday, December 26th and it came back negative. I don't "feel" pregnant, and I don't think I'm showing any symptoms of pregnancy, but I'm still nervous. Could I be pregnant?

OK, maybe I should explain a few things.

1) I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago, and it came back negative.

2) As much as I would love to go on the pill, I can't. I see an endocrinologist (doctor who specializes in pituitary and hormone deficiencies) and he does not want me on the pill right now so that I can monitor my period.

3) My period is, and always has been, highly irregular. I can track it, but it is very difficult to do so since it is almost NEVER exactly 28 days apart. There have been times where it's been merely 2 weeks, other times where it's been 35 days or so.

4) Last, but not least, my boyfriend used a condom AND pulled out to ensure that we will not get pregnant. We are fairly young (I'm 21, he's 22), and cannot afford to have children now.

Chances are that you arent. There were too many precautions during the time you had sex. It could be that you are a little stressed and that can cause you to be late or even skip a period. If you were about 4 weeks along and had actually missed a period, you would possibly start feeling symptoms, like fatigue and sore breasts, but you said that you were fine. Try to relax a little bit and see what happens.

It's possible that somehow you did get pregnant but sounds very unlikely. The best way to determine is to see your doctor and have a blood test done to check. you could very well just be skipping your period. If you have a good deal of stress in your life right now that can cause you to have irregular periods. I have never been normal my entire life. I would skip every other month with mine so of course when I became sexually active I definitely took all precautions to keep from getting pregnant as I never knew when it was going to strike. And it never came at the same time of the month each time either. So I suggest a blood test to make sure. You are very young to be getting pregnant so I hope for your sake that you are not. I got prenant with my first child at 21 and looking back I wish I would have waited. You have to grow up way too fast when you become a parent. Good luck.

At 28 days (which is 'normal') would have been December 15. If your dates are correct then I would say it is unlikely you are pregnant. HOWEVER, if you dates are off then the expected cycle date is off as well.

Am I the only woman who keeps track of her cycles? If young women (heck any woman for that matter) are going to be having sex they need to know their bodies and know when they should start their cycle. Simply mark it on a calendar I do...and if you have a good idea when it will start you can plan things... :)

Now I don't know how old you are (really does not matter) you shuld seek a planned parent hood for a famiy doctor for some contraceptives. Condoms alone have a pretty hight failure rate...and they break!

Best of luck...if nothing else go to a doctor and get a blood test.

I personally think u should take a test and also womens bodies do chnage, one time i didnt get my period for a lil over 40 days.. but im a virgin but my body was changing..all womens bodies do go in that change of cycle..to save less stress and worrying go take a test... instead! Good luck!

P.s. After u had protected sex ur period will skip a few days etc.

I think this is just another irregularity in your cycle - is not too uncommon to skip a month. You should be showing a positive test by now if you were really pregnant.

very doubt-full....... but there is always the possibility no matter how care-full you are.

Why is he wearing a condom and pulling out?? That sounds a bit weird to me.

Why don't you get a pregnancy test?
