no skyrocket juniper grows up not out this is a plant most nurseries here plant because they require no trimmin or pruning nurseries will plant a lot of these because you can sell them after a year or two they can also be planted close together which means you can get more in a field which leaves more space for other plants and trees that require more care than the skyrocket juniper they use these here as a fence because they can be staggered they can grow up to 40 feet tall nursery woman in tennessee

nope !! if you want the bottome to grow faster prune the bottom back to new growth dontnt take more than 15% of the green or you run the chance of " shocking" the bush same gose for trees too pruning will make them grow faster and fuller

I wouldn't suggest trimming the tops of these shrubs as they are meant to
be tall. I think you might be sorry. Why not buy the type of shrub you want,
such as a yew or boxwood.

you can prune back some of the apecal merrtstamatck tissue that would cause dorment buds to sprout but i would not cut much they cant take to much pruning.look up[apical meristem]on the inter net.
