Cause it's not the same meaning. The heart you're talking about stands for 2 people that are one. It's actually just one side of the heart. I read it's an old symbol.
Umm yes. Bad explanation.

There is a very vague resemblance - if you look at a cross section of a heart you'll see that the basic shape is vageuly traingular, with a dip in the top. But drawing this precise shape would be difficult. Therefore the shape we think of as a heart is a memorable representation of an irregular shape.

It sort of is...it especially looks something like a cow heart, which early humans would have been familiar with. However, there is some debate among symbologists. Early symbols for "female" use the typical "heart" shape and some symbologists believe it is derived from the shape of the female sex organs, not the heart.

The symbol for the heart that we've all come to know and love has obscure historic origins, and since it is on all our playing cards and valentine cards, it's going to stick around for a while. The actual shape of the human heart wouldn't have the sentimental meaning of the symbolic red one that evokes warm fuzzy feelings has accrued for many years.

The shape of a heart is irregular and wouldn't fit nicely in a box of Lucky Charms.

What do you mean? You mean why our hearts aren't shaped like the cartoon hearts? or why the cartoon hearts aren't shaped like real hearts.

Cartoon hearts are easier to draw, but our real hearts are much better at making us live.
