John Edwards is a young and passionate liberal who views this countries problems as being entirely within this country. He does not seem to have a firm grasp on the fact that the entire world views America as either the problem, or the solution to THEIR problems. I have doubts about Edwards international views. I have doubts about Edwards view to the US Military and it's uses. But mostly I have great fears about John Edwards and the law.

Edwards made his money suing people. Our courts are being used for legalized theft by lawyers who sue over anything and everything. Tort reform is a must in this country, and the last person on earth that will ever advance tort reform is John Edwards.

So, simply, no. I would never vote for John Edwards.

Definitely would vote for John Edwards. I'm amazed at the inaccuracy of the comments here -- he is not a "rich little boy" -- don't forget he came from a very modest beginning. Yes, he is a millionaire now, but isn't that the American dream? I think he deserves great respect. I also like his wife very much -- she is sharp, articulate, and very, very witty. They would be wonderful in the White House. Before you blather on anymore about "ambulance chasers," check his website and give his ideas a fair hearing. If you disagree, that's fine. But inform yourself first.

Actually, Leogirl08, he wasn't voted out. He did not run again for his senate seat because he was running for VP in '04. He is a lawyer, true, but so are many of the politicians in office. And while I also think he doesn't have a lot of experience, I'm not sure that this bad because look at what the currrent administration has given us and with the exception of the President, they are all "experienced" politicians. Perhaps someone with "fresh eyes" can take a fresh approach to our current issues - domestic & foreign.

Yes, he is smart, a decent person, full of energy, and a wonderful public speaker. John Edwards is all so dedicated to Universal Health Care, a strong but sensible military, resolved to not start any wars.
We use are military appropriately as a defensive tool to defend the Nation, and not to promote any self interests.
Also, he is dedicated to righting the situation with income disparity in the Country. America has been promoting and rewarding the rich long enough.
Money by the government is best spent at the bottom of the economic stratification where it rapidly moves through and up the economy and helps everyone.

John Edwards is a little rich boy who has no concept of the needs of the average american. He is an ex-ambulance chaser who got elected to represent us here in NC, but did absolutely nothing for the people of NC. His positon here was just a stepping stone to a run for the presidency. He didn't even carry NC in the last elections.

Isn't he the one who first claimed that he would never serve under John Kerry, then immediately jumped on board as his running mate? You know, the John Kerry that first voted for the war in Iraq before he voted against it?

John Edwards will be a laughing stock during the next elections...same as he was last time.

Isn't it interesting...there are only 2 on here praising John Edwards...the only avatar of a black person and someone named Kerry.

He wasn't voted out, he chose not to run again. Whether he would have won was a different story, but let's at least get the facts straight.

I like his message of hope and helping people. I'm not tied to any candidate at this point, but I'm open to listening to what he has to say.

He is an ambulance chaser who spent two years in the senate; his attendance record while being a senator was abysmal (something like a 90% absentee rate) and he rarely attended committee meetings. He has no governing experience, no foreign policy experience, and no new ideas for governance, just the same pablum taken from the democratic playbook. No way should he be elected.

I am open to hearing what he has to say. Personally I think that he would have made a better presidential candidate than Kerry in the last election (not saying it would have mattered anyway). We'll see...
