hey you need to have a USB cable to connect your mp3 or mp4 player with the computer or laptop. well these players often require your system to have windows xp or mac. and also these mp3-mp4 players provide you softwares to use for file transfer.
so before u connect to the laptop install the software and then connect ur player with ur computer. when u connect, click on "my computer" icon on ur desktop. You'll find more drives that u must not have seen earlier on ur computer. well that is ur mp3-mp4 drive.
now click on it and open it. so, here you get inside your players folders. now u can transfer them to your computer by using copy-paste option or by right clcking on the file n sending them to the desktop or my documents folder.

If it's a USB-based Ipod or Zen, you can probably just plug it in and copy files (the Zen works better in Windows Vista). If it's older... good luck. =(

it depends, if your mobile phone support blue tooth, so easily you can use Bue-tooth USB and then Transfer from your Mobile phone to the PC.
