No scientist ever saw the coming into being of the earth or the universe . the big Bang they say sis nt applicable to all the mater inthe universe .that should apply only such mater as they are able to see and reach with the aid of tlescope and receprtors of radio wave emissions from visible matter . the space should contain much more and unreachable and unassesable quantities of amater as the space is infinite . Matter being indestructible , it should have been there for ever and no time can be really related to it . so far as we are concerned the time we think of should have commenced with the big Bang and when we consider the age of mater . - it has no age for it existed in some form or othere and so time has no relevance to it .No Scientist can prove at any time that mater can be created .If one can do it ., then he is God's God. The matter of which the earth is made of should be ageless. But God came into existence after man appeared on the earth. This evn the Gods can not deny. the most popul;ar gods ar pretty young .; just less tha 2006 years only.

The modern thinking is that Earth is about four and a half billion years old. Saying something like 4.57 billion years implies that we know it is not as old as 4.6 and not as young as 4.5 billion years, but I don't think we have enough information to say it that exactly. Between 4 and 5 billion is a reasonable estimate based on available evidence.

Scientists say that the Earth is 4.6 billion years old.

The age of the Solar System (including the Earth) is measured by the radioactive decay of certain isotopes in rocks and meteorites. These isotopes (principally Potassium and Uranium) were created with the solar system. By measuring how much has decayed, we can very accurately determine how long it's been since they (and the rest of the solar system) were formed.

Nice question. It's around 4.6 Billion years like everything in this solar system. And the universe is around 14.6 Billion years old, so, nothing in the Universe could be older than that.

Scientist don't know, they just guess based on bad assumptions. Most dating methods have been discredited but are still commonly used. Biblically based dating puts the earth at 6000 ish years. Other methods say several million. The billions or trillions you refer to is for the age of the universe. Bottom line is nobody has a clue. People justify their data base on their own belief system.

based on factual representation and not misleading chemical dating which is by no means proven accurate,
There is no way to assume the earth is More than 50 thousand years old, but I'm more for about 6,000 based on biblical account and Substantial Holes in the "complete and accurate" fossil record
