Hitler was said to have shown symptoms of being paranoid schizophrenic most of his adult life. I don't know on what this is based on, but I've read it in several books. Just a little tidbit here, in going back through past films some people thought he was also in the early stages of Parkinson's disease, this disease does not cause mental illness though.

Hitler was definately suffering from mental illness. Most likely brought on by his abuse of drugs. His mental break down is well documented but the funny thing is that if 'his" side had won, his mental illnesses wouldn't be a topic at all. Look at George Bush, no one see how mentally disturbed he is or even how paranoid and mentally ill his father was. Because of the things they've done and the long term consequences of them, history probably will document their mental illness like they have Hitlers.

Hitler showed signs of mental illness all of his life and it got progressively worse as he got older In retaliation for that he had mental patients put to death or turned out on the streets including his own sister. His insanity grew to know no bounds and the cost of it is still being felt in the world today

Hitler was never the poster boy for mental health. It must have
been very bad when he was holed up in his bunker under conditions that would break a sane person.

I think he suffered from meglomania, neurosis and ego issues for most of his life. From what I have read, those conditions became worse at the end of his life (the last days of the war).

I think he was already suffering from a mental illness. It isn't natural that one could consign so many to death and remain mentally healthy.

I think it is safe to say he suffered from mental illness all his life. He could not speak to people directly, he had major issues with women. let's not even touch his racism.

The only factual condition was "parkinson's disease" which effects his motor functions. Any mental conditions are strictly speculation.
