I hate a thief, you should report the matter to a senior manager at your office, and politely confront each co worker about the situation. Do not accuse anyone. Or get the police to dust your purse for finger prints. This might scare the culprits into confessing. A thief especially an armature will crack very quickly, once authority takes over. Lock your purse away next time.

You are in a small office, so you know that one of the 5 people you work with is responsible. If I were you, I would report it to your boss and then have a meeting with everyone in your office. In that meeting I would say. "Someone went through my purse and stole $80 from me. I realize that I will probably never know for sure which one of you is responsible, but I do what you to know something. I am a very giving, good hearted person. If whoever stole from me had just asked me, I would have given you the money. Now, instead, you have force a level of distrust, and you will always be a dirty thief!"

After that is said, go back to your office. Be sure you keep your purse in a secure place so it can't happen again, and be thankful it was only $80.

The person who stole it from you has the problem.....not you. So don't worry about what that person is thinking.

Did you report it to your supervisor? That is what you should have done right away. Even if you didn't then, go ahead and report it now. They need to be aware, even if you never get your money back. That person will do it again. Thieves don't stop until they're caught.

In the meantime, be sure to keep your purse in a safe place, or with you, or don't take it into the office with you.

Good luck. :)

You need to tell your boss so he can have a meeting about it, maybe the guilty person will come forward. Also dont think of it as if they are laughing at you. Maybe this person is desperate, needed some money to feed thier family. Its pretty unlikely that someone you worked with for 2 years is wanting to steal from you because they dont like you. Is anyone acting different?

That really sucks. If you like your job and want to stay there, then all you can really do is, not talk about the stolen money. If someone brings it up, you could say, if someone needed it that bad all they should have done was asked. Then, make sure you don't carry more than your lunch money to work with you.

Report the incident so that your co-workers can be alerted of the mistrust in the office. From now on lock up your belongings and pay no mind to the little person that violated you. Their day will come with no effort from you.

from now on put your purse in a secured place, and get it through your head that everyone is not trustworthy, things like this happen, so what if the thief is laughing now, what goes around comes around, and one day he will get his, just keep what value hidden at work, everyone is not as honest as u are, there are all kinds of people in this world, some good some not so good.

Live and learn! It really sucks that someone did that to you. I have had "friends" steal money from me before. I just kept hoping that who ever took it needed it more than I did. You can tell some one about it but chances are the only way your going to find out who did it is if they tell.

There is not a whole lot to do. You do not know who took it so try to live with it or you could end up blaming the wrong person. Keep your things more guarded and remember that a thief walks about you!
