Foods to avoid

Some foods are not easily digested and can prompt bouts of indigestion among susceptible people and this results in acidity and heart burn. Avoid pickles, fried foods, hot spicy foods, chocolate, pastries, and raw salad vegetables like onion, radish, cabbage, and peppers. Cut down on alcohol since it increases stomach acidity, strong coffee and tea can cause irritation and fizzy drinks can produce wind. Unripe fruits are high in pectin, which is hard to digest so it has to be avoided.

Precaution

Do not eat just before going to bed.

Avoid irregular and hurried meals.

Stop smoking and cut down on alcohol.

Follow yoga or some exercise to reduce stress.

Drink plenty of water.

Enzymatic Therapy's Heartburn Free. Follow the directions on the package the first time you take it. After that, you can take it as needed. If you know you are going to eat something that will give you heartburn (spicy food, acidic food, etc.) take one in advance (up to 30 minutes before). If something is giving you heartburn, take one at the first sign of heartburn. It will make you burp and it will taste like orange peel (as it is orange peel extract).

It's a weird taste the first couple of times you taste it, but after you take it once or twice, it won't be as bad. It is worth staying with it as it is better than burping up acid. It is natural and relatively inexpensive as far as natural treatments go.

Hi MotorCity

Foods that can often quickly resolve heartburn problems are apples, raw cucumbers (peeled), brown rice, and walnuts. Sipping a glass of pure, filtered water with a couple of teaspoons of raw organic apple cider vinegar or baking soda (one teaspoon to eight ounces of water) can also quickly neutralize heartburn attacks.

Best of health to you

Try chamomile tea, it's good for many things: Heart burn, cramps, stomach aches, etc. If you don't like it plain put some sugar in it, I know I sure like it.

I have heard that a couple of tablespoons of apple cidar vinegar is good. You can take it straight, or in a glass of water. A friend of mine swears by this.
