I don't think the question should be are we gonna lose the Ashes 5-0, thats obvious, the question should be how did we manage to win it last year? did the Auzzies forget to turn up or were they so sure they'd beat us that they sent the Sheila's out to play the matches?

It is the same old story you pay people huge sums of money to play a sport and they turn up and take part in the game but they are not bothered about winning just pocketing the cash at the end of the day or three days in this case. One or two of the players may have tried but the others were just there for a holiday in the sun and the money, all the talk about pride and wanting to show the fans some fight is a load of old rubbish the only thing they are bothered about is the cash. As for Fletcher if he does not resign now he should be sacked and sent back to Rhodesia where he came from.

come on just because they lost to the Aussie doesn't make em the worst team in cricket, not a lot of teams can go to Australia and beat them in their back yard.

I don't think you seem to remember that England went unbeaten 16 test matches before loosing the 1st test in the ashes 05 in England. They've beaten the west indies, south Africa away.

People seem to forget that England were without 3 key players for this series...

1. Michael Vaughan...a batsman and influential captain, who out captained ponting in the last ashes series.
2. Trescothick, our experienced opener.
3. Simon Jones, our reverse swing king who is just a capable of getting wickets just like Brett lee and mcgrath.

I'm sure England will capture the ashes back in 09, England cannot change from a good team to a bad team overnight.

England have been unprepared and the selections have been awful as well as the champions trophy getting in the way, a total waste of time.

England are the worst team around and have been for a while. Winning the Ashes last year was was due to a short run of good luck and the Aussies playing badly.

Yes they are the worst coz they introduced it but still they havent won a major cricket championship including World cup ICC champions trophy.........

Not only in Cricket but also in other games such as soccer.Their performances are pathetic.Goal keepers miss the ball and let it go to the goal and they are dum! They knw one thing to do!Thats boasting!Thats all they do!Countries like australia dont do so but on the other hand they show who they are practically!

England will start to do well in everything only if they stop boasting and focus on the present and the future!

i think every team goes through rough patches and england is doing that right now. dont forget the advantage of playing on your home ground and the people.

i can see it being a five nil win to australia but im sure australia will go through some changes in the next few years as they build up their team again after losing a few good players.

England seems to have lost the temparement/thirst for success. They have talented cricketers but they aren't fired up for the matches. They have to work hard, be aggressive like Australians, find good openers and develop Monty.
