no where, this is the good old vortec with a distributor, the distributor when placed right shows were the cam is.

The Camshaft position sensor will be at the very rear of the engine, dead center and behind the distributor cap. The sensor is kind of L shaped with the plug coming in from the side. This is held in place by a small bolt, I believe a 10mm.

What is wrong?

Its built into the dist that`s why it has to be positioned correctely when ever its removed. gen 3 engines 99 up have cam sensors gen 2 do not.
