UNIX/Linux/Ruby/Beos
With those you will learn as you go.
Windows, you will pay if you want to learn, but you can make $ repairing.
Security: There is no such tghing as Security on a Network, the two ideas themselves are diametrically in opposition, there is the illusion of security, and people accept that as a reaility.
Network Administration is a very good field. After a while in it you will see what I am talking about and you will become a Linux fanatic. But true Libux and MicroLinux are going to be wierd. So get MSCE every 6 months, and get whatever they think they can teach you to tell the Users to make them buy more. That is biz 101.
