i just got sims 2 holiday edition for christmas and i downloaded it and the expansion pack, sims pets and when ever i try to click on a person or an item for the person to do it dosn't work. I tried it a few times. The walls dont go down and they are always flashing red and dark red even when i try to paint them.
I had sims before and i started to have some problems with it but usually it worked.

Well, I'm a Sims fan, but I've never had your problem...
First off, are you sure you downloaded everything correctly?
Or maybe, are you sure you had Sims 2 Holiday Edition. You might have had an expansion pack with similar features.
If you are absolutely sure that you did everything correctly, then maybe:
a. You should take the game to a store and see if there's a problem with it. They may give you a new game, free of charge.
b. You should uninstall the expansion pack, since that's where your problem seemed to lie.
c. You should get an update on your computer, because maybe it's a problem with speed and storage.

It's your graphics card. It's most likely too old, if your on a computer, you can probably replace it, just hire some tech guy to do it so you don't mess it up. but if you have a laptop, you just have to get a new laptop. OR you can not spend any money, but lose out on the fun, buy uninstalling it. This is also the problem probably if you have Glamor Life Stuff, Family Fun Stuff, Pets, or the new one, i don't know if it's out yet, Seasons. Hope this helps!
P.S. If you uninstall it, everything in your game might get deleted, sorry:(

hey i just got the sims 2 pets and the whole red flashy walls thing is happenin 2 me 2 but i guess iv got used 2 the wallz but teah it is annoing i think u may need to uninstall it then reinstall it hope i help

Your computer may be too old, or just not capable of playing The Sims anymore. I would suggest undownloading all of The Sims games and then reinstalling them onto your computer.

I have this problem to , but couldnt bear it. It was annoying. But everywhere i look for help they say its to old or its a graphics card. But my laptops brand new? I have read somewhere it happends to laptops more, can you try it on a P.C?
