If one is attending an Honors Gala at a Country Club and it specifies evening attire. What do you wear? Can it just be a cocktail dress or does it need to be a full length formal?

dressy, not oer the top, i mean, your not going to a wedding, i suggest a nice dress w/ a faux fur shawl thing, and a nice clutch, hope that helped =]

Evening attire is usually cocktail or semi-formal.
A knee length dress would probably be fine, but you might want to dress it up a bit with some fancy accessories just in case.
If you choose to go with the full length dress, then I would keep the accessories simple so you don't look overdressed.

If it was me, I would go with the longer gown. It's usually better to be a bit over dressed than to be under dressed for events like this one. It shows your respect for the occasion, and the people being honored.

Absolutly NO. No white... NO WHITE, no off-white, cream or any other whitiesh color !!!!!!! It's extremely RUDE to wear white to a wedding. Please, don't. That's the bride's color. A pant suit is not acceptable either if it's a formal event. A mid calf dress with a matching jacket or shawl is what you shoudl wear. Wear navy, burgundy, black, green.... anything but white. With all the holidat dresses out there for the season, I'm sure that you can find something acceptable to wear. Good luck PS? Ovioulsy, the people that tell you taht wearing whiteto a wedding is acceptable have never been to a wedding. They cannot be serious.

think about the event. you know it better than anyone out in cyberworld. are you receiving an award?... is the occasion extremely formal?...

if its a gala, i'm assuming they are exhibiting something... in my opinion, you could go cocktail, just wear sexy heels and bring a pair of lady gloves, so if it is formal, you can slip them on and still look amazing.

I think it's an in-betweener of the two...but one can never be too formal...

I always get invited to events that require smart casual attire...what the heck is that...
