You have plenty of time for all that... Are you going to find out what it is??? I didn't start buying stuff for my kids until I was about 28 weeks pregnant..

Start to buy stuff whenever you want! I was excited and started buying things a week or two after I found out. But then again, you don't know what you'll get for your baby shower. Just save receipts, you might change your mind about it once you find out the sex of the baby or even later in the pregnancy you may decide that the thing you bought is really ugly and you can't stand looking at it anymore! Good Luck!!!

Really you can start any time you want but i would wait until after you have the baby shower that way you can see what others have bought for the baby and you can go from there. Usually you will have to buy the big things yourself but you never know. My mom bought the crib for my brothers baby (saved him lots of money). I'm 25 weeks and haven't purchased any items myself yet but have received a few gifts from family and friends. I think I'll wait until after the baby shower before i really start to go nuts. Saves lots of money when things are tight.

I would start now buying things like diaper wipes and shampoo and Tylenol and gas drops( buy the generic stuff ...it is like 2-3$ cheaper and works just as good) ( I have to have the name brand diapers though...pampers/loves are my favorite..swaddlers for newborn through size 2)There is no need now to start buying clothes and stuff you can do that when you find out what the baby is ( if you want to know) I would also suggest that you get a baby shower no later than 30 weeks preg. ( to insure that you can get everything you need before the baby comes...so you can buy everything you did not get) I made that mistake and they were going to throw me one at 36 weeks and I had my daughter at 35 weeks so no baby shower and not much stuff!!!!

Good Luck

Formula is not good to buy yet because the baby can have to have a special kind so that has to wait till the baby is born

When I was preg. I started buying diapers, wipes around my 3 mo. BJ'S wholesale club has the best deals on diapers if they have one in your area stock up now will save you money in the long run. That way your not having to by diapers, wipes and formula ( unless your gonna nurse) which I did b/c it saved me money and is best for baby. Also have a baby shower that where you get a lot of help with things you need and want. Best Wishes to you and the little one

That's totally up to you. I started at about 5 months and everybody kept telling me to wait because what if something would happen to the baby. Well I just told them sorry but I am not going to be thinking negative, my baby is going to be ok. It helped me a bunch to get started early I am now 38 wks and have everything ready. With my son I started at about 39 weeks and boy was I all in a hurry to get everything plus I forgot some stuff.

Smiles, :)

Buy one or two items now, but don't do the majority until after your baby shower. I would recommend the baby shower at 7 or 8 months because by this time frame you usually know the sex of the baby and any risk of somthing going wrong is really low.

I waited until after my shower before I went on a shopping spree for the baby. I didn't get to really have it because I received so many gifts at my baby shower that I really didn't need anything. I was covered on all the basis including crib. I did run out of diapers at his 4th mth, but wipes ran thru until he was over a yr old. Good Luck to you!

I started at the end of the 5th month. It takes time to build up the things you'll need for your baby. Baby blankets, crib, crib sheets, baby tub, baby furniture, baby gate(s), bottles, bottle warmer (yes, even if you plan on breast feeding, you'll need some as a backup.) Clothes for the little one, I'd wait until the 8th month to buy, if you plan on finding out the child's sex before birth. In the 9th month, car seat & stoller.

My opinion is that it would have to depend on your financial situation. Obviously if funds are limited it would be better to start early and have a few things ready, and collect as you can afford to. Also knowing the gender of the baby obviously controls some of your purchases.
Good Luck to you, and have a great new year.
