I ordered an xbox 360 with Gears of War. I was wondering if I need the hard drive or not to install the updates to play online successfully. Thank you for your answers :)

You need the Pro system with hard drive to save games and to play on line. The core system is pretty worthless for gaming.

technically u don't need the hard drive but u can't save, live... The microsoft people made it seem like the core is for normal to beginning gamers while hardcore gamers get the 400 dollar kind but the truth is u can't do **** w/ the core. Save up 100 bux more and get the premium edition, You'll enjoy ur experience more
plus u'll look gay when ur goin over to ur buddys house to play xbox w/ him and ur the only one w/ a wired controller

For online play it would help out a whole lot to play this game. To simply play the game, you can go on without a hard drive, you just won't be able to save your progress and will have to start all over again if you turn the game off.

you need to have a memory source someplace; otherwise, you received't have everywhere to load profiles from, or to maintain the game once you play besides. maximum each 360 recreation will require profiles and saving besides.
