We are only friends, but I don't think my husband could love me and be comfortable living with me and my ex. Obviously, I said no, and asked my husband what was wrong with him, and all he will say is that it was just a dumb thought.

We don't need money that bad. We cover our bills, but don't have a savings.

Wow your husband is either dumb, or trusting to the point of ridiculous. I'm sorry to see that a few bucks is more important to him than your happiness. Good Luck-I think you're gonna need it.

Despite all your doubts, it is possible for your husband to have a passing thought and voice it before he could rationalize it and think about it logically. Of ourse, you were right and he wouldn't have been comfortable with you both in the same house but perhaps at the time, he just thought about money and a possible renter and did not go into details. Many men are dumb enough to say thinks without rally thinking about them. Let it pass as his dumb thought, as he said and don't worry about it too much. Here's one thing more, perhaps it was his unconscious attempt to gauge your feelings about your ex and whether you would like to have him near you. Your reaction in the negative must have satisfied that passing whim.

LOL - your right - a husband like yours deserves a wife he can trust better than you obviously - you leave him over something like this I for one would wonder about you. There must be more detail here that you didn't state to make the idea that you would leave him over this even a thought in your mind. I agree with him - it was a dumb thought - not something to leave someone over (how dare he think you can be trusted with a guy you say is only a friend now - maybe you aren't friends like you say and your husband is on to you). We guys can sometimes just say stupid things without thinking them out and the fact that he feels safe to take like that around you means he really trusts you - of course if you are going to leave him over him just saying a stupid thing his trust is obviously misplaced.

Good Luck!!!

HELLO!
That's not a good reason for leaving your husband. You say that you are only friends. And your husband did say it was a dumb thought. You already told him "no" so what's the problem. Maybe there are facts you're not telling us.

Yes it was a dumb thought. Glad he could admit that! I wouldn't leave my husband for that though....but I would keep him away from the ex.

Not gonna happen. I can tell he trust you a lot though. I would just tell him that there is no way you could live with him. You wouldn't feel comfortable, and you want to be comfortable in your own home.

it could be that your husband trusts you enough to know that you wouldn't do anything together (being an EX after all)

but i would agree that his suggestion is rather unusual - and probably not well thought out too

Even if you needed money really bad I cant believe a husband saying that. I also would feel that it is impossible for him to really love me. Just goes to show what Ive been saying my whole life, MEN SUCK.

That's weird, of course I would still stay with my husband but that is a really weird question.
