I caught Spike on BBC DAB radio 7. No time for tele the past week or so.
I didn't walk backward, but was swept back in time. Try this link for some old fun Christmas programming... three solid hours:

It's interesting to see just how many people "answer" a question when it is patently obvious that they have absolutely no knowledge of the subject so therefore go on to make fatuous remarks.
You should have explained that 1: Spike Miligan was one of the Goons, 2: The Goon Show was a famous radio programme, and 3; There was a song entitled "I'M WALKING BACKWARDS FOR CHRISTMAS" which came from that crowd. Then perhaps they would have seen the humour in the question.

The GOONS were on the radio inthe 1950s and early 1960s. There was an attempt to broadcast the "Goon Show" on TV but it did not come across very successfully, due to the image that the radio listeners created in their minds of the zany characters. The TV Goons
were seen standing in a studio reading scripts
into microphones, so the illusion was spoiled.
Spike Milligan recorded several TV shows but
these have not been repeated for some time.
If you hear (or see) of any being broadcast in future I would be pleased to know of them.
Good luck and keep the Lurgi at bay!

Well he's been dead for a few years and I can think of better things to do at Christmas than traverse the Irish Sea.

Congratulations for probably the most obscure Yahoo question I've seen, I would guess there are very few goons fans here.

Why would you walk backwards for Christmas unless you are talking about looking back at your life at Christmas pasts.
