i have a very limited budget, and im trying to save money by just getting one gift.

Tuff one. Gotta go with something more geared for the child. The parents will understand a limited budget. (Everyone with kids does, LOL) Maybe take the kid to the mall and tell her you trying to pick a nice gift for her mom and dad in a certain price bracket and see what SHE has in mind. Kids like to give gifts. Maybe buy it and put that it is from you and her. She may get a kick outta that and you can figure out what she likes at same time. OR...Do they play family games. Get them a game the whole family can enjoy. Scattergories, Monopoly, etc.

Well, i'm sure that they wouldhave done something to u and for which u want to show or do something for them as a token of ur love and for everything they have done for u..
If its so, i think the best gift would be a real HUG filled with love , care and gratitude will definetely make them happy.
But, if u still wanna share or give something more than that i think u can see to that u cook or get a sort of dinner arranged in ur house itself filled with CANDLELIGHTS and some soft music.
That would not cost u much..
And, may be u can hang around with them in some lonley holiday spots like some parks or a camp fire or something like that.. Again its not going to cost u much..
Last but not least DO TAKE PICTURES WITH THEM and paste them in ur living room so that everyone will behappy and will remember and cherish those memories.
I wish u stay happy with ur family for ever.
