Walk: 50 minute walk past Russell Square, Holborn and Aldwych.

Tube: About 15 minutes by Tube: Victoria Line Southbound To Oxford Circus, then an easy crossover (involving no stairs, escalators or lifts) to the Southbound Bakerloo Line to Waterloo.

Taxi: Between 10-20 minutes dependant on traffic and the time of day

Overall the distance is just under 3 miles.

Yeah it's about 3 miles. It's a great walk, if you have the time. I highly recommend crossing Waterloo Bridge, I've lived in London for 16 years and the view still takes my breath away.

PS The guy below me has put "8 minutes" to drive it - he obviously hasn't driven in London recently. It's at least half an hour in the daytime, and you have to pass through the congestion charge zone. (You could avoid it but that would take upwards of an hour.)

Maybe about 2 miles. It's walkable and I've done it at 3am, but the tube is much easier, especially with luggage.
